A quick hello, and how this little site is put together.
Kia ora, I’m Otis. Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
This is the first post, so here is the quick tour. The blog is really just a folder of markdown files. Each post is one file with a title, a date, and a few tags at the top, and then whatever I feel like writing underneath. When I want to publish something new I add a file and it shows up on the blog page, newest first. That is the whole system.
I also want to give a shoutout to how cheap computing has become. I can host this whole site for almost nothing. A static site is small and simple enough that the free tiers out there cover it easily, so I get a fast little place on the internet without really paying for it. That still feels a bit magic to me.
